Yao WANG

Research Direction: Wireless Power Transfer

 

Dr. Wang received Bachelor's and Master's degrees both in electrical engineering from Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi’an, China, in 2017 and 2020, respectively. Since January 2020, He has been pursuing his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering at Drexel University, Philadelphia, United States and received the Doctor Degree in September 2023. He joins Nanyang Technological University as a Research Fellow in December 2023. His research interests include high-power capacitive power transfer, inductive electric vehicle charging, high-frequency power conversion, wide bandgap device application, and solid-state DC circuit breaker design. He has authored/co-authored more than 50 publications including IEEE flagship journals and conference proceedings. He received several awards for his research work, including the “Second Best Project Award” in the 2023 IEEE Global Wireless Power Competition, the “Student Travel Grant Award” of the 2023 IEEE Wireless Power Transfer Technology Conference & Expo (WPTCE), “First Prize Paper Award” from 2022 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE). He was awarded the 2022 Joseph and Shirley Carleone Endowed Fellowship, one of the most prestigious awards of Drexel University. Meantime, he is also the recipient of the 2021 Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad, jointly awarded by China Scholarship Council and China Embassy, which is the highest honor for Overseas Chinese Ph.D. Student.

Xinze LI

Research Direction: AI for Power Electronics and Wireless Power Transfer

 

Dr. Li completed his undergraduate studies in Electrical Engineering and its Automation at Shandong University, China, in 2018. Subsequently, he achieved his Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in 2023. He has been a visiting scholar at Zhejiang University in 2023. He is now working as a Research Fellow at Nanyang Technological University. He has authored one book (Springer Nature) about the application of AI in the automatic design of power electronics systems, and he has authored or co-authored more than 25 technical papers spanning the realms of power electronics and artificial intelligence. He was awarded the Outstanding Presentation Award at the 2023 IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference, and the 2023 Prize Paper Award from the IEEE Industry Applications Society. Additionally, He was selected as the Winner of the Collaborative Research Award in the academic year 2023-2024 at Nanyang Technological University. His research interests include dc-dc converter, digital twins for power electronics systems, design process automation, light and explainable AI for power electronics, and deep learning algorithms.

Yajie JIANG

Dr. Jiang graduated with his B.Eng. degree at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Zhengzhou University. He subsequently pursued his M.Eng. degree at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Huazhong University of Science and Technology before he joined The University of Hong Kong as a Ph.D. student. He has successfully completed his Ph.D. study in 2022. From 2022 to 2023, he was a Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellow at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He has published more than 10 top-tier journal papers as the first author. He is the recipients of Best Paper Award of PESA2020 and Best Presentation Award of ICPEE2023.

Kaiwen CHEN

Dr. Chen received his B.Sc. degree in Harbin Institute of Technology in 2016, and his M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, in 2017 and 2022, respectively. He is currently a Postdoc Fellow at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and a visiting Research Fellow at the Nanyang Technological University. His research interests include wireless power transfer and advanced control technologies for power electronics.

Jianghao HU

Dr. Hu received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in Control Science and Engineering from Dong Hua University, Shanghai, China, in 2013 and 2016, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in Instrument Science and Technology from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China, in 2021. He is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China, and Visiting Research Fellow in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. His research interests include wireless power transfer and power electronics.
