Yun Yang is currently an Assistant Professor. He received Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Hong Kong in 2017. During his graduate studies, he worked on the control of power electronics and their applications in microgrids under the supervision of Prof. Siew-Chong Tan and Prof. Shu Yuen Ron Hui. From 2017 to 2020, he worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the same research group on wireless power transfer. He was appointed as an Honorary Research Assistant Professor by the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, The University of Hong Kong in 2020. From 2020 to 2022, he worked as a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is now an Assistant Professor at the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University.

Dr. Yang has been working in the fields of wireless power transfer, power electronics, advanced control, renewable energy technologies, and electric vehicles. He has achieved 80+ publications, including 5 patents, 40+ SCI journal papers, and 40+ international conference papers.

Dr. Yang has been a Visiting Scholar at Zhejiang University from Apr. 2022 to Jul. 2022, and at Shenzhen University from May 2022 to Jun. 2022. He is a Member of the IEEE Society. He also served as an Associate Editor for several journals, a Committee Member, and a Session Chair of international conferences & seminars, and a Reviewer for several prestigious international SCI journals.
